narrative:-New Moon (also known as The Twilight Saga: New Moon) is an upcoming romantic-fantasy film scheduled for release on November 20, 2009. It is based on the novel of the same name by Stephenie Meyerand is the sequel to 2008′s Twilight, which is based on Meyer’s previous novel. Directed by Chris Weitz, the film will star Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner, reprising their roles as Bella Swan, Edward Cullen, and Jacob Black, respectively. Melissa Rosenberg returns as the screenwriter for the film. She handed in a draft of the film script during the opening weekend of Twilight. Summit Entertainment greenlit the sequel in late November 2008, following the early success of Twilight.

representation:- the film represents different types of people vampires, teenagers/ young adults and family.

audience:- the film is aimed at young/ teenage girls but also would be viewed by their boyfriends an family so needs to be appropriate for various audiences.

Teaser trailers can be shown at the cinema before other films come on, on youtube and on the internet in places like movie websites.

Teaser trailers can be linear or non linear, non linear trailers may be more effective as they keep the viewers gripped, and should be edited just to give the viewers an insight as to what is going to happen rather than spoiling the story line.

The institutions involved in teaser trailers are the companies that fund the film, local cinemas and websites.

I used media language in my coursework when creating a horror product with generic conventions, the creepy music, darkness, blood and screaming.

The target audience for my media product were males from the age of 18-24. We made our film suit the age group of 18-24 by using generic conventions of blood and gore so that when the product was viewed by people of this age they would not be disappointed by what they saw.

In my media product i used representation to make the girls look naive, we did this by the sound effects making them look scared and nervous also showing the audience what was ahead before the girls saw this told the audience that they had no idea what was ahead and represented them as naive. The lads were portrayed as a a danger, unpredictable and the threat of the film the fact that they were drunk older and more able to defend themselves added to this.

My Definition:- Narrative is what happens or the story of a media product.

Narrative can be either linear or non linear this it how the story is told linear is in the order in which the events happen were as non linear is shown not in order like in the form of flashbacks. our media product was non linear we decided to make it non linear as we thought it was more appropriate to keep the audience gripped and interested in what was going on.

The genre of a film can be sorted through the recognition of generic conventions such as things going wrong in a comedy, blood and gore in a horror, futuristic music aliens or space in science fiction, story being told through music in musicals and war films been set in the past.

The genre of my media product was horror. We choose horror as we knew alot about the the genre what looked good and how to try and create a succesful horror film.

In my media product i used generic conventions from other horror films with the blood gore and scary music.

We tried to create the image of horror through generic conventions.

Post production is the most important part of making the film, it completes the process makes everything fit together.

During the post production of our film we changed some of our original story line to make the trailer look better.

I used research and planning when searching for what horror films require to fit the specifications, such as generic conventions blood and gore, what audiences expect of horror films and how to create a sucessful horror film.
